Proof Expands Global Infrastructure with New Milan, Italy Data Center for Ottomatic Platform
I’m proud to announce the launch of our 33rd global data center location in Milan, Italy, further expanding the reach, performance, and capability of the Ottomatic Platform across Europe and beyond.
The new deployment is located within Equinix ML2 (formerly Telecity MIL1), one of Italy’s most established carrier-neutral facilities, with direct access to the MIX (Milan Internet Exchange). This connectivity enables high-performance, low-latency routing across Southern Europe and international networks, strengthening the Ottomatic Platform’s global backbone.
With this expansion, the Ottomatic Platform enhances its ability to deliver enterprise-grade infrastructure for modern and legacy applications, while improving redundancy, data locality, and performance for customers operating across the EU.
Infrastructure Built for Modern Workloads
The Milan data center is part of a broader investment in high-performance infrastructure designed to support a wide range of workloads on a single platform.
Customers can deploy using flexible infrastructure models tailored to their needs:
- High-Performance Virtual Machines for scalable, production-ready workloads
- Bare Metal Servers with NVMe Storage for maximum performance, isolation, and throughput
- Containerized Environments, including FileMaker on Docker, enabling modern DevOps workflows and rapid deployment
This infrastructure supports a diverse set of use cases, including:
- FileMaker Hosting, from single-instance to multi-tenant environments
- Modern Web Applications and API-driven architectures
- Supabase and PostgreSQL deployments for data-centric platforms
- AI and inference workloads, supporting next-generation, agent-driven applications
By combining infrastructure flexibility with global reach, the Ottomatic Platform allows organizations to place workloads closer to users and data while maintaining centralized control and operational consistency.
Strategic Connectivity and Resilience
The Milan location strengthens the Ottomatic Platform’s European footprint by:
- Leveraging direct peering via MIX for improved performance and reduced latency
- Enhancing disaster recovery and geographic redundancy
- Supporting data residency and compliance requirements within the EU
- Providing high-performance infrastructure for both legacy modernization and new application development
As application architectures evolve, proximity, performance, and resilience are becoming critical. The Milan data center ensures customers can meet these demands without compromise.
We have a number of customers in Italy already, and I hope this will continue to improve their experience with Ottomatic. If you’re new to the platform, you can learn more and sign up here. Grazie e benvenuto!
